Florida: The State of it All
The Sunshine State is divided into seven geographical regions: Northwest; Northeast; Central West; Central Coast; Central East; Southwest; and the Southeast, which includes the Florida Keys. Each provides a diverse choice of experiences. One thousand miles of beaches...58,000 miles of Everglades...Tropical gardens...Florida has all of this and much more to offer.
With average winter temperatures between 70°F and 80°F in Tampa, Sarasota, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale and Miami - Florida is at its most pleasurable during these months! The beaches are generally well known, but just as interesting are the miles and miles of interior waterways, which provide opportunities for, pleasure boating, wildlife exploration and fishing. Go on airboat or swamp buggy rides to see the birds and plants that help to make the Everglades so extraordinary!
Miami is home to some of the world's most stunning beaches while continually enhancing its status as a cosmopolitan hub for entertainment and nightlife. During pirate days, the coral reefs in Key West caused hundreds of shipwrecks and left many fortunes buried at the bottom of the sea. Today, the reefs are a National Marine Sanctuary and North America's only living coral reef. Ride a glass bottom boat to view the coral's wondrous color or snorkel for an up-close and personal view of coral and other marine life.
Visit Busch Gardens or the Florida Aquarium in Tampa for some animal encounters before heading to some of the most pristine white sand beaches in the world. Theme parks abound in Orlando with Walt Disney World, their new Animal Kingdom, Sea World and Universal Studios, to name only a few highlights! Move off the beaten path a little for a trip to Gatorland - a combination alligator farm and tourist attraction!
Wherever you go in Florida, you are only a few minutes from endless natural and manmade attractions.
