How to get started:

1. Apply with Medical Express in 3 easy steps

To set the wheels in motion, complete the 3-step application, which is a application form, skills checklist and professional reference request form. This does not obligate you to travel, but it does open the door to many exciting choices and excellent opportunities. There are several ways that you can complete the 3 steps:

• The quickest and easiest way to apply is online, via our safe and secure Web site. We will receive your application materials just seconds after you submit it to us.
• If you prefer, you can download an application form, print it out on your home printer and then complete the forms and mail them to us.
• The skills checklist and professional reference request form can also be conveniently completed online.

2. Meet your recruiter and find the ideal assignment
Once you complete the three steps, you will be assigned a personal recruiter. You and your recruiter will work together as a team to find the assignments that best suit your skills, preferences and career ambitions. You and your recruiter will discuss the advantages of each assignment, evaluate pay, review the facility's requirements and narrow your options to the assignments that are the best fit for you. Our traveling nurses find that, since we work in thousands of facilities across all 50 states, the choices are almost limitless.

3. Telephone interview with the facility
Once your recruiter has forwarded your credentials to the facility of your choice, the next step is a telephone interview with a representative of the hospital. Usually a nurse manager or director of the department will conduct the interview. Your recruiter will help you prepare for the interview and will give you tips and pointers to help you land the job. The telephone interview is a great way for you to get acquainted with the facility. It's your chance to gain insight into the responsibilities, challenges and work environment of the position, and to determine if it is the kind of assignment you're looking for. If you and the employer decide it's a good match, you'll be on your way to your first traveling nurse assignment.

4. Accept the assignment
Congratulations, you've landed the assignment! Medical Express will now help you with your credentialing requirements and any paperwork to ensure that everything is in order before you start your new job as a traveling nurse. Free, quality housing will be pre-arranged by our housing department, including furniture delivery and utility setup.

5. You're on your way! 
Your travel nursing adventure has begun! It's time to begin enjoying new life experiences, great career opportunities, excellent compensation and new friendships. Your Medical Express recruiter will stay in contact with you throughout your assignment to ensure that you are comfortable and happy in your new environment — and when you're ready, begin working with you to plan your next assignment. After you complete you assignment, you have many options. You can travel to a new assignment, possibly extend your current assignment, apply for a permanent position at your current facility, or return home and travel at a later date.
